Using the XBox Kinect, students are active participants in the exploration of the concepts of mean, median, mode and range, through the following simulation activities; Ten Pin Bowling and Track & Field events.

The XBox Kinect is a motion sensing input device that enables users to control and interact with the XBox 360 without the need to touch a game controller.

This program gives students the opportunity to be active participants in the exploration of statistical measures through gesture-based gaming and data collection. It challenges them to apply their own knowledge about athletics to explain and interpret key features of data & graphs.

The use of games as vehicles for learning to excite and engage students is supported by research that shows the cognitive benefits of allowing students to experience playful learning environments.
