Primary Science Concepts with Plants4Space
This professional learning supports primary teachers to develop unit plans using a single resource to inspire and connect ideas for learning through the Plants for Space context. Teachers will explore the focus question, How can we grow plants in space?, using story cards and hexagon thinking routines to identify and organise key scientific ideas. Participants will examine concepts such as plant needs, survival in space environments, sustainability, and improving growing conditions, while making links to the Science Understanding and Design Technologies curricula. Teachers will collaboratively sequence learning, explore investigation ideas using Primary Connections and other Plants for Space resources, and adapt ideas to suit their own classroom contexts and year levels.
