Primary Science Concepts with Plants4Space
Teachers will engage in a practical, confidence-building professional learning day focused on designing Primary Science programs aligned with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 and inspired by the work of the Plants for Space team.
We will be providing this workshop in conjunction with Plants for Space, an international research group based at LaTrobe University, with a focus on building solutions for humans living in space.
Teachers will examine concepts such as plant needs, survival in space environments, sustainability, and improving growing conditions, while making links to the Science Understanding and Design Technologies curricula.
Through collaborative planning, teachers will identify key scientific concepts, create relationships between ideas, and develop linking questions to integrate ready-to-use resources from Plants for Space and the Department of Education.
