Physics Fun Day is an interactive event where students explore the surprising and exciting side of physics through three engaging sessions.
Abracadabra!
What's the physics behind the magic? Explore magnetism, Newton's laws of forces and Bernoulli's principle in a series of five different tricks.
Flash!
Explore the science of light through hands-on activities involving reflection, refraction, and UV light. Use mirrors and torches in reflection light puzzles, discover properties of UV light, and experiment with refraction illusions.
Please note: Flash replaces the 2025 session "Crash", which is being adapted into the Newton's Greatest Hits program.
Zapped!
Observe static electricity through a Van der Graaf generator demonstration and various hand-on activities. Explore conductivity through fresh produce and a human-controller racing game.
This event can accommodate up to 60 year 9/10 students.
