Physics Fun Day is an interactive event where students explore the surprising and exciting side of physics through three engaging sessions.

Physics Magic

What's the physics behind the magic? Explore magnetism, Newton's laws of forces and Bernoulli's principle in a series of five different tricks.

Crash!

Using crash carts, investigate the effects of different types of collisions on passengers in vehicles. Find the magnitude of the physics concepts of motion, acceleration, force, and momentum from the data provided by the crash carts and the equations of motion. Compare these values to researched data to determine how these crashes will physically affect the vehicle passengers.

Zapped

Observe static electricity through a Van der Graaf generator demonstration and various hand-on activities. Explore conductivity through fresh produce and a human-controller racing game.

This event can accommodate up to 60 year 9/10 students.
