In this FREE Quantum Victoria and RMIT School of Vocational Engineering, Health and Sciences Experience, Year 9/10 Girls from Government Metropolitan Disadvantaged and Government Rural Schools will participate in targeted Workshops that showcase 21st Century skills.

Students select ONE of the following workshops:
A: Electronic Projects/Circuits
This hands on practical task will enable students to read and interpret a technical electrical drawing and construct circuits using various electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, op-amplifiers, timers, LED's , etc. on a board, similar to that used in industry. The correct connections will enable the circuit to function and display the desired output similar to that used in an industry.
B: 3D Printing Technology & Automation
Makerbot and Zortrax labs are an integral part of the engineering programs through RMIT's advanced manufacturing precinct. Students will design their own component using design software such as Catia, AutoCAD and Solidworks before seeing their design materialise in a layer-by-layer build. Students will be exposed to protocols used in industry.
C: Industrial Automation
Industrial automation is the use of control systems, such as computers or robots, and information technologies for handling different processes and machineries in an industry to replace a human being. Students will be introduced to practical methods of automatic control of machines, processes and systems.
D: IT & Networking
Students will participate in a Network Connectivity Game using network simulation software PacketTracer. Participants will work together in teams and will begin with a pre-configured network topology and undertake a race to hop through network devices to a given endpoint.
