STEM Project Based Learning (PBL) Teacher Professional Learning

This workshop is for Primary and Secondary Science, Mathematics and STEM/STEAM Specialist Teachers

Teachers attending this workshop explore the effective implementation of Project Based Learning and how this approach can be utilised to enhance the teaching and learning in the Science, Maths and STEM/STEAM classrooms. Planning templates and examples of STEM PBL projects will be shared and discussed and teachers will have the opportunity to plan their own PBL project for implementation with their students.

It is recommended that 2 or more teachers per school attend this workshop and that teachers bring along curriculum/scope and sequencing documents to reference in the planning session of the workshop.

Participants will:

  • Develop an understanding of PBL and its applications in the Science, Maths and STEM Classrooms

  • Apply the QV Design Thinking Framework in a STEM PBL context

  • Be provided with examples of Primary and Secondary PBL projects

  • Have time to plan their own PBL for implementation with their students

  • Be presented with planning templates and other resources
